Exercise Your Mind
It’s easy to think about getting exercise for your body – but how about for your brain? Well it works pretty much the same way for both. Except your brain can’t do push-ups or go for a jog!
Exercise for your body is just using your body to do stuff, to work or to play. Energy and sweat come out of your body. Well exercise for your brain is the same. You have to use it to do stuff, or to imagine or play. Stuff needs to come out of your brain. If all you do is put stuff into your body, you’ll get bigger and softer and lazier, but if you use your body to do or make stuff – and you put out sweat and effort – that keeps you balanced. So if all you do is let stuff come into your brain – like videogames, movie, Facebook, etc… your brain may get softer and lazier. It has to work, make stuff and play. Use your brain to draw, write, imagine, invent – put some brain-power to work on creating something, and that will help you to stay balanced. With your body you need to put in good food, water, sleep… and you need to put out sweat, effort and energy. With your brain you need to put in things like good books, talks with your friends, parents and grandparents and new information … and you need to put out something creative.
You can do it. Exercise your mind. Put in good stuff and put out some effort to be balanced.
Be good, be strong & be safe.
